Luka Dončić, the Mavs' star point guard, led the way with a team-high 30 points, while Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith each added 18 points. The Mavs also got key contributions from their bench, with Spencer Dinwiddie and Maxi Kleber providing valuable minutes and scoring.
The Timberwolves, who had upset the Memphis Grizzlies in the previous round, battled back from a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter and even took a brief lead. However, the Mavs regained their composure and closed out the game with a 12-2 run.
The Mavs will now face either the Phoenix Suns or the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. Game 1 of that series is scheduled for Wednesday night in Phoenix.
